INTRODUCTION

During the 300^th anniversary of the Salem witch trials, Rose Easterly wrote what became a best seller about the grown-up Dorcas Good, the littlest witch of 1692. Took me 3 months to get a copy. I knew, as I was reading it, that Dorcas LOVED every bit of that book. More fact than fiction, I know it was “ghost written” by Rebecca Nurse.

I had written and self published STRANGE “BOD” FELLOWS over ten years earlier, based on the WPA research supporting my discovery that the reluctant reincarnation of the child on the wings of the Salem Fire, June 25, 1914, had taken place on my ticket.

NOOOOBODY was interested in that book, now being republished by Xlibris. Even the local bookseller in Newburyport Mass, where I took her first breath that day, refused to take this book by a world famous local talent … not even on consignment.

In our BABY SITTER’S MAGIC MOUSE STORYBOOK by Job (Harvey) Matusow, illustrated by Dorcas and me, you’ll find me on the Dorcas pages puzzling over three New England rejections of a home town girl making good world wide.

In my 91^st year, I know it was DORCAS, who had become a famous cartoonist in 1941–– not I, a 9^th grade dropout. I now know the last 3 comics on the last page of that book were DRAWN by DORCAS… teasing me on my reaction to the discovery.

I had just given Dorcas credit for the mysterious help I’d been getting with IDEAS for my drawings over the years when, in the Baby Sitter Book, she took over and on the NEXT PAGE, is showing me that SHE ALSO DID THE DRAWINGS.

My first realization that she had not severed “our” connection with her past friends came while pioneering electronic scoreboards for the new Oahu Stadium being built over an ancient burial ground. The local Kahunas were engaged in rituals to placate the resident spirits. Working alone nights in deserted stadiums, believing the new technology used a new form of energy that might enable communication with other forms of life, I reached for extra terrestrials in outer space, dust bunnies in the computer room, AND the resident spirits in the stadium. When I discovered they were referring to me behind my back as their cahoonist, we began fraternizing. It could SOMETIMES be my imagination. I really have no way of knowing for sure, but too many surprising exchanges with ghosts, has left no question of the basic validity. They may be ghosts, but those I knew in life are NOT DEAD.

In the world of Eternal Infinity where Dorcas had been hiding out, past present and future exist simultaneously, as in our recently invented hard disk. We don’t actually invent. We discover what exists in Nature and find a way to make use of it. We now know that Dorcas had access to the future because in the Baby Sitter book, she was drawing herself going to the moon some years before our astronauts landed.
